room where there are not many distractions, such as a bathroom<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait for your dog to lie down on their own and reinforce this behavior with attention and a treat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give the command for your do to get up again, luring them back into a standing position with a treat when necessary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait for your dog to lie down again, reinforce the behavior and now have your dog stand again<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As your dog goes to lie down again say \u201cdown\u201d so that your dog can learn to associate this word with this action<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repeat and slowly stop floor give them the treat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repeat steps one and two and then begin to bring your empty hand to the floor and give your dog a treat after he lies down<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once your dog is important that when you are training your dog to lie down you never forcefully put your dog into the lie down position. Continue the movement of your hand, while holding a treat, once they are lying flat. You are aiming to lure them to roll onto their back by moving your hand from their shoulder to their backbone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once they are lying on their back continue with the hand movement until they roll onto the opposite side, completing a 180-degree turn, or roll over, from the starting position<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once they get to grips with following the treat from the starting position to the end position of a roll over begin to add the verbal cue \u201croll over\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slowly reduce the hand movement and simply use the verbal cue, giving your dog a treat after performing the command.
